The Fiestas del Barrio de San Roque in Torrevieja bring a week of lively celebration, tradition and community spirit to the heart of the San Roque neighbourhood each August. From around 10 – 18 August, residents and visitors gather in the plaza on Calle José Hódar for children’s entertainment, live music, contests, traditional paella, evening raffles and a vibrant summer carnival.
Highlights of the festival include a giant paella cooked at popular prices, a colourful summer carnival parade, spirited “fiesta de la espuma” foam party, nightly DJ sets and full-on live concerts. On the patron saint’s day the atmosphere becomes festive with a solemn mass, a procession in honour of San Roque and Santa Ana, followed by fireworks under the stars.
With activities tailored for all ages, from fun games and water-play for kids to late-night dancing for adults, the Fiestas del Barrio de San Roque offer a joyful blend of traditions and modern fun. It’s a must‐attend neighbourhood celebration where local identity, shared meals and summer energy come together beautifully.
